Sebastian Alvarez (born in Mexico City, 1995) works and resides in London, UK. His  oil paintings often depict personal, serene, and private scenes, seeking to find the pulse of life through these moments, exploring themes of isolation, self-reflection and sleep.

These paintings often offer themselves as a repose, a window into private moments in response to a world of images of the exposure and theatrics of lives as seen through screens. The paintings find a foot in the past through their classical themes, perceived through vibrant, Mexican-reminiscent colours, and often accompanied by the surreal imagery of dreams.
